Tom Boonen was born on October 15, 1980.

The Belgian rider won numerous one-day races including the World Championship Road Race and some of the five monuments in cycling.

He also won the Points Jersey in a Grand Tour event.

Boonen won the 2005 World Championship Road Race in front of Alejandro Valverde of Spain and Anthony Geslin of France.

Boonen was also 3rd in the 2016 World Championship Road Race behind Peter Sagan of Slovakia and Mark Cavendish of Great Britain.

Boonen won the 2005 Paris-Roubaix Classic in front of George Hincapie of the USA and Juan Antonio Flecha of Spain.

Boonen also won the 2008 Paris-Roubaix Classic in front of Fabian Cancellara of Switzerland and Alessandro Ballan of Italy.

Boonen won the 2009 Pari-Roubaix Classic in front of Filippo Pozzato of Italy and Thor Hushovd of Norway.


Boonen also won the 2012 Paris-Roubaix Classic in front of Sebastien Turgot of France and Alessandro Ballan of Italy.

Boonen was 2nd in the 2006 Paris-Roubaix Classic behind Fabian Cancellara of Switzerland.

Boonen was 2nd in the 2016 Paris-Roubaix Classic behind Mathew Hayman of Australia.

Boonen was also 3rd in the 2002 Paris-Roubaix behind Johan Museeuw of Belgium and Steffen Wesemann of Germany.

Boonen won the Tour of Flanders Classic in 2005, 2006, and 2012.

In addition, Boonen won the Points Jersey in the 2007 Tour de France.
