Alex Zulle was born on July 5, 1968.

The Swiss rider stood on the final podium of Grand Tour events five times including two victories.

Zulle was 2nd in the 1995 Tour de France behind Miguel Indurain of Spain.

Zulle was also 2nd in the 1999 Tour de France behind American Lance Armstrong.

Zulle won the 1996 Vuelta a Espana in front of fellow Swiss riders Laurent Dufaux and Tony Rominger.

Zulle also won the 1997 Vuelta a Espana in front of Fernando Escartin of Spain and Laurent Dufaux of Switzerland.

In addition, Zulle was 2nd in the 1993 Vuelta a Espana behind Tony Rominger of Switzerland.
