Domenico Piemontesi was born on January 11, 1903. He died on May 31, 1987.

The Italian rider stood on the podium of the Giro d'Italia twice and the World Championship Road Race once. He also won one of the five cycling monuments.

Piemontesi was 2nd in the 1929 Giro d’Italia behind Alfredo Binda of Italy.

Piemontesi was also 3rd in the 1933 Giro d'Italia behind Alfredo Binda of Italy and Joseph Demuysere of Belgium.

Piemontesi was 3rd in the 1927 World Championship Road Race behind Alfredo Binda of Italy and Costante Girardengo of Italy.

Piemontesi also won the Tour of Lombardy Classic in 1933.
