Max Sciandri was born on February 15, 1967.

The British rider stood on the podium of the Olympic Road Race the first time professional cyclists were allowed to compete in the event.

Sciandri was 3rd in the 1996 Olympic Road Race behind Pascal Richard of Switzerland and Rolf Sorensen of Denmark.
