Rudy Dhaenens was born on April 10, 1961. He died on April 6, 1998.

The Belgian rider won the World Championship Road Race.

He also twice stood on the podium of the Paris-Roubaix Classic.

Dhaenens won the 1990 World Championship Road Race in fornt of Dirk De Wolf of Belgium and Gianni Bugno of Italy.

Dhaenens was also 2nd in the 1986 Paris-Roubaix Classic behind Sean Kelly of Ireland.

In addition, Dhaenens was 3rd in the 1987 Paris-Roubaix Classic behind Belgians Eric Vanderaerden and Patrick Versluys.
