Olaf Ludwig was born on April 13, 1964.

The German rider won the Points Jersey in the Tour de France.

He also once stood on the podium of the World Championship Road Race and twice stood on the podium of the Paris-Roubaix Classic.

Ludwig won the Points Jersey in the 1990 Tour de France.

He was also 3rd in the 1993 World Championship Road Race behind American Lance Armstrong and Miguel Indurain of Spain.

Ludwig was 2nd in 1992 Paris-Roubaix Classic behind Gilbert Duclos-Lasalle of France.

He was also 3rd in the 1993 Paris-Roubaix Classic behind Gilbert Duclos-Lasalle and Italian Franco Ballerini.
