Joaquim Rodriguez was born on May 12, 1979.

The Spanish rider stood on the podium in the Grand Tour events.

He also stood on the podium of the World Championship Road Race.

Rodriquez won the Mountains Jersey in the 2005 Vuelta a Espana.

Rodriguez was also 3rd in the 2009 World Championship Road Race behind Cadel Evans of Australia and Alexander Kolobnev of Russia.


Rodriguez was 2nd in the 2012 Giro d'Italia behind Ryder Hesjedal of Canada.

Rodriguez also won the Points Jersey in the 2012 Giro d'Italia as well.

In addition, Rodriguez was 3rd in the 2012 Vuelta a Espana behind Alberto Contador of Spain and Alejandro Valverde of Spain.

Rodriguez also won the Tour of Lombardy in 2012 and 2013.

Rodriguez was 3rd in the 2013 Tour de France behind Christopher Froome of Great Britain and Nairo Quintana of Colombia.

In addition, Rodriguez was 2nd in the 2013 World Championship Road Race behind Rui Costa of Portugal.

Rodriguez was 2nd in the 2015 Vuelta a Espana behind Fabio Aru of Italy.
