Steven Rooks was born on August 7, 1960.

The Dutch rider stood on the podium of a Grand Tour event.

He also won the Mountains Jersey in the same event in the same year.

In addition, he stood on the podium at the World Championship Road Race.

He also won one of the five monuments in cycling.

Rooks was 2nd in the 1988 Tour de France behind Pedro Delgado of Spain.

Rooks also won the Mountains Jersey in the 1988 Tour de France.

Rooks was 2nd in the 1991 World Championship Road Race behind Gianni Bugno of Italy.

In addition, Rooks won the Liege-Bastogne-Liege Classic in 1983.
