Gaetano Belloni was born on August 26, 1892. He died on January 9, 1980.

The Italian rider won one of the Grand Tour events and stood on the podium another two times at the same event.

He also had five victories in the five monuments of cycling.

Belloni won the 1920 Giro d’Italia in front of Angelo Gremo of Italy and Jean Alavoine of France.

Belloni was also 2nd in the 1919 Giro d’Italia behind Costante Girardengo of Italy.

Belloni was also 2nd in 1921 Giro d'Italia behind Giovanni Brunero of Italy.

In the one-day events, Belloni won the Tour of Lombardy Classic three times, in 1915, 1918, and 1928.

He also won the Milan-San Remo Classic twice, in 1917 and 1920
