Moreno Argentin was born on December 17, 1960.

The Italian rider was a proven performer in the World Championship Road Race, the classics, and the Grand Tours.

Argentin won the Liege-Bastogne-Liege Classic four times, in 1985, 1986, 1987, and 1991. This is one behind Eddy Merckx’s record of five victories.

In the Fleche Wallonne Classic, Argentin won the race three times and is tied with Marcel Kint and Eddy Merckx for the record of victories. Argentin won it in 1990, 1991, and 1994.

Argentin also won the Tour of Flanders Classic in 1990 and the Tour of Lombardy Classic in 1987.

Argentin was 3rd in the 1984 Giro d’Italia behind Francesco Moser of Italy and Laurent Fignon of France.

Argentin won the 1986 World Championship Road Race in a two-man sprint against Charly Mottet of France.

Argentin was also 2nd in the 1987 World Championship Road Race behind Stephen Roche of Ireland.

In addition, Argentin was 3rd in the 1985 World Championship Road Race behind Joop Zoetemelk of Holland and Greg Lemond of the USA.
