Andy Schleck is a retired professional road cyclist from Luxembourg. He was born in Luxembourg City, Luxembourg, on June 10, 1985. Schleck was renowned for his climbing prowess and success in the Grand Tours, having won the Giro d’Italia, the Vuelta a Espaa, and placed in the top ten in the Tour de France on multiple occasions.

Schleck’s older brother Frank was also an accomplished competitive cyclist. Andy began his professional cycling career in 2005 and rapidly became one of the best climbers in the peloton. In 2009, 2010, and 2011, he was second in the Tour de France before winning the race in 2010 after Alberto Contador was disqualified for doping.

Schleck was forced to retire in 2014 as a result of a recurring knee problem that plagued his career. He has stayed engaged in the cycling world since his retirement, serving as an ambassador for the sport.
