Alberic Schotte was born on September 7, 1919. He died on April 4, 2004.

The Belgium rider was a two-time winner in many of cycling's greatest one-day races.

Schotte won the 1948 World Championship Road Race in front of Apo Lazarides and Lucien Teisseire of France.

Schotte also won the 1950 World Championship Road Race in front of Theo Middelkamp of Holland and Ferdi Kubler of Switzerland.

Schotte won the Tour of Flanders Classic in 1942 and 1948.

Schotte also won the Paris-Tours Classic in 1946 and 1947.

In addition, he won the Ghent- Wevelgem Classic in 1950 and 1955.

Schotte was 2nd in the 1948 Tour de France behind Gino Bartali of Italy.

In addition, Schotte was 4th in the 1949 World Championship Road Race behind Rik Van Steenbergen of Belgium, Ferdi Kubler of Switzerland, and Fausto Coppi of Italy.
