Lucien Buysse was born on September 11, 1892. He died on January 3, 1980.

The Belgian rider's results stood on every step of the Tour de France podium.

He also stood on the podium of the Paris-Roubaix Classic.

Buysse won the 1926 Tour de France in front of Nicolas Frantz of Luxembourg and Bartolomeo Aymo of Italy.

Buysse was also second in the 1925 Tour de France behind Ottavio Bottecchia of Italy.

In addition, Buysse was third in the 1924 Tour de France behind Ottavio Bottechia of Italy and Nicolas Frantz of Luxembourg.

In the one-day classics, Buysse was third in the 1920 Paris-Roubaix Classic behind Paul Deman of Belgium and Eugene Christophe of France.
